#7092 Skeleton's Prison Carriage

At first i didnt have great expectations for this. another carraige? wow 3 undead horse. but i can 3x crossbow attack too. so whats so great about this?

5 figures, 4 horses. last time when i need to get 5 ppl need to get a $80 set, now TLG very generous on ppl

AHHhhh
a trend is almost all the sets have figurs of both factions, a change from last time. increases playability, and almost certainly build both armies at the same time

large, robust, carraige with 3 horses, very big.

quite interesting details + chains. and 2 halberds. more halberds the better, i like halberds, one of the best weapons

a nice knight, prisoner can use the short sword, anyway im not short of weapons

detachable prison to become a tower like thing. empty carraige can put many skeletons. i also like the undead helm they give, most nv give anything. the 'elephant tusk' thing can decorate stuff

locking up the loser

5 figures yay. i forgot the scythe blade of the 2nd undead from the left. great to build undead cavalry better than 3x crossbow attack. no one cares about undead cavalry, im sure alot of army builders will sell their undeads anyway. the more skeletons the better

$29.90? probably the best set for its price.

#7090 Crossbow Attack

3 guys? 1 skele horse? for $8.90? great!

footman and bowman. too bad doesn't come with bow and arrow, if building army will have tons of bowless bowmen

great undead cavalry at least got shield

firing mechanism a rubber band, doesnt even fly far, i dunno about the 'crossbow attack' unless it means the 2 little crossbows in front. technic stick and ball as ammo, imo should use spears

skele horse, nice

buy many many

#7009 The Final Joust

For $13.20 i thought i had a deal, 2 minifigs on horses, spare weapons cool horse barding. Foreground is the 'divider' thing, which, has almost no use and no place in my castle.

Weapons rack can fit in the castle. Spare weapons are always good.

Boths horses the same dimensions though the black skelli looks a little small, maybe cos the head is lowered. Neat pearl gold horse helm and barding. Metallic grey visor for knight is really good too.

A comparison of the undead this set (left) vs the one i got from the castle (right). IMO, the black armour despite interesting printing is not as good as the metallic black on the right. Skull shield is alright, grey and dark red print.

comparison of the bardings, the gold look nice for a king but i rather have silver
Conclusion: still a good set, can build lots of calvary + spare weapons

#7094 King's Castle Siege

7094 is one of the largest castle set produced. TLG finally emerged from the dark side of poor set designs and bad 'kid-orientated' sets to produce castle2007, the theme Crowns vs Undead. Undead! Many good elements from the classic castle age were brought back like the old-school sword, helmet-visor and plate armor, horse barding, skeleton army and many many bricks. Also, alot of new interesting elements were introduced with this set...

Base plate was bought separately. Having found the store at coronation plaza (bukit timah) all sets are discounted 15%, for $201 its quite worth it! le modular design such that castle elements can be rearranged in anyway, though strange...
Not many traps. Only a collapsable wall and a fakish turning 'bridge' but who is complaining
Major selling point is the huge dragon (relative to huge castle, menacing)
Rectilinear plan but it works, nicely covered.

Things could be improved/missing
1.) a proper large golden flag of cloth material
2.) plumes for knights
3.) small catapult is small (obsolete)
4.) front gate looks weird when raised
5.) 1 horse only?

Team Crown Knights, 6 , standard sword, axe, bow. New king's golden chrome sword, nice horse barding. I like the screaming face of the bowman. Every character has different facal features. Plus points for the new colour for the helms, metallic silver! King's plate armour is not bad too, in pearl gold.

Screaming head is printed on both sides of the head (hidden by the helm) revealing a more serious smiley face.

Team Undead. Battle axe, new flail, new scythe, new design of skeleton, dragon detail. Black skeleton's face doesnt stand out enough, but i like the undead knight and its glossy black armour + helm

Dragon is huge, it has a 35cm wingspan, all dragons should be of this size onwards. 6 good guys vs 4 bad minifigs and a dragon, quite balanced for a large set like this.

Conclusion, nice to see promising new themes. Worth the money on it just for the sheer size and no. of bricks (973)

($201 + $16 baseplate)
